Custom domain name error message when trying to purchase

Hi, looking for advice as I have tried purchasing a domain name about 30 times and it will not work. Its gets to the end and says error. My tech savvy friend has also tried and can’t figure out what’s wrong. Support has emailed saying to make sure the browser is up to date, use google chrome or safari and clear the cache, we have done all that and we are still getting the error message. Has this happened to anyone ?

What is the domain in question. Have you checked it’s available?

 

It may be easier to purchase the domain using someone external (like godaddy) and then link it to your square online site. It’s not too hard to do and probably more flexible this was.
