I was told by support a couple months ago that this is a known issue and developers are working with Apple to get this issue resolved. The device will pair immediately with an Android device, but still refuses to be recognized by my iPhone, even after several additional iOS updates
There seems to be no official recognition anywhere by Apple or by Square that this is a known issue. Please provide some information about when we can expect this to be resolved, and please post an official thread somewhere recognizing this issue and giving all us frustrated users a place to track the progress of a fix!
I previously had tried all the troubleshooting steps and nothing worked. Out of desperation I decided to try one more time. I deleted the square app, re-booted the iphone, then reinstalled the app. Now, the reader is connected. Will post an update if I experience more trouble.

I have installed 13.6.1 and none of my square readers are connecting.....virtually out of business this morning........totally unacceptable.

So sorry to hear this. Have you tried reinstalling the app and manually resetting the reader by holding the button down for 20 seconds?
I've tried that multiple times. I have 2 chip readers; neither work.

I would, but I am LOCKED OUT of my account although I tried only two times to login, unsure if the password required was the email PW or the SQ pw. I even changed the PW, but am still locked out. Looking into Zettle.
