Charge back on services rendered

I did a perm on Oct 2 and found out yesterday that my clients husband disputed the charge because he said he didn't know she got a perm. He doesn't bother asking her if she spent the money, just disputed it. I've got text to get and I called soon as I got the message and she kept saying she was sorry. He's supposed to cancel the claim, now I'm being told they are deducting $140 from my checking! I'm beyond furious, he was there when she got the perm cause I am a mobile stylist she it was at their home.

Good morning! Thank you for responding I appreciate it. The wife which was my client actually reached out to me yesterday morning and they repaid me again with extensive apologies on his part. LOL so all is good now but this is good information. Luckily in the 11 years that I've been accepting credit cards this is the first so I guess I got lucky. But I'm hoping that it's also the last. Have a great day and thank you for responding to me.

Hi there @Ashtam01. Sorry to hear about this.  Sometimes customers can be the worst, eh?  Anyway, it's obvious that the dispute was not cancelled and that the customer's bank made a decision in the customer's favor.  There are only a couple of options now.  If the husband was honest about trying to cancel the dispute then he should have no problem allowing you to resubmit the charge.  But, if he was just telling you what you wanted to hear, your only choices are legal ones now -- small claims court, etc.  In this case, if you decide that spending the money to file a claim is worth it, you'll need to consult with an attorney or with your local small claims court.  Good luck.
