client adds in his card on transaction online- his receipt has a card number that is not his. called support today. after 3 dropped inaudible calls he sent an email that never adressed the issued- why is he card number changed- a refund was provided but to went to the wrong card as well.
have not seen this before but support should be better that discarding this issue as unimportant.

Whenever you add a payment card to Apple Pay, that combination of card and device (Apple Watch, iPhone or iPad) is given a unique Device Account Number. Using this number instead of your actual card number forms part of Apple Pay's built-in security measures that help to protect your data during payment transactions. So if he used Apply Pay it's possible a unique credit card number was generated as a protection measure.
I cannot think of why else the number would be different. Was your client able to confirm with his card bank issuer that the transaction did not appear on his account? I hope you are able to resolve this situation.
