Keep getting developer options not available when I am try to setup?

Just to confirm you are trying to connect a Square Reader to a mobile device?
First lets double check you are connecting to a supported device.
If you see the message that Developer options are not supported, please turn off the developer options within your device before running through the troubleshooting steps. To turn off developer options:

These steps usually help getting the Reader connected (as long as your device is compatible), if it doesn't work the first time - usually waiting 30 mins and trying again will do the trick.
