Can you send an invite to a customer to add a card on file?

Hi!  I have had a "subscription" type box for a year, except I haven't offered it as a subscription up until now.  Customers come onto my site every two months (that's how often it's offered) and purchase that box. 

 

Since you can't set up a subscription for a product for a 2 month cycle, my plan was to have them purchase the box they're wanting for this month and then set them up on a recurring invoice for every 2 months starting April 1st.  I know I could reach out to them and ask for their card information, but I feel like that looks odd and unprofessional.  Is there a way to send them an invite to add a card on file?  Is there a better way to do this?  If I could set up the product as a subscription for a 2 month cycle, this would be so much easier but it's not an option in Square.

At this time the only way of having the seller add their cards on file is either manually or via an Invoice or Checkout Link. 

 

If you have any suggestions on how to implement this I could pass it over to our product team for their visibility and consideration.
