I'm using the Square POS app on my iPhone 14 and I don't see the option to enable TTP in Settings. If I try to charge, I see "Enable Tap to Pay on iPhone", but when I hit it, I get "Sorry, we couldn't complete your request. Please try again later". I'm on 18.3 and the app version is 6.62.1w
Did you give Square the permissions required to use the hardware on your phone?
If you go to Settings > Hardware > Connected Devices it should say "Tap to Pay on iPhone". What does it say for you?
@WPL_Secretary @PerroneTech Jumping in here. Having the same issue. On current version of IOS and Square app.
Settings > Account --- I see no "Tap to Pay" option
Settings > Hardware --- I don't see any connected devices (I removed my reader). I see "This device" listed and can see related details (device ID, IOS version, etc) but no way to enable Tap to Pay.
My goal is to set up Tap to Pay so I can accept payments by tap directly to my phone/app without needing a reader.
Just a note on the support page for Tap to Pay:
"You will not be able to use Tap to Pay on iPhone if you log in to your Square Point of Sale or Square Appointments app using a Device Code. Tap to Pay on iPhone is available with Square for Retail if you use a Device Code to log in."
Is this how you log into the app? Tap to pay also requires a device code for the iPhone, like when you lock it.

I am having the same problem with my employee's phone. We uninstalled the app which was initially set up with a device code. Then we reinstalled and logged him in with an official team member login. Unfortunately the tap to pay option has not appeared.
Does the phone have a screen lock? Like a PIN after it is locked?
Yes it does have a PIN lock. It is his personal Iphone 16 by the way.
Does his account have permission from the admin account to use the tap to pay feature?
I searched through the list of permissions and don't see anything that specifically mentions tap to pay. Maybe I am overlooking something. Do you happen to know the path to this permission?
Same here, I'm not the admin and he's not sure where to look. If you can provide steps, I'll see him Saturday and we can work through them. We also need to set up another user acct with less access than mine so they can only take payments.
I looked again and didn't see it.

Also please make sure your softwares are the latest version.

If you go to More -> Settings -> Account on the device, do you see the "Tap to Pay on iPhone". You will have to connect your apple ID in there.
