I get to the point where I've entered mt Apple ID, it shows me the done check screen and then I get kicked right back to the "GET" button. Doesn't even start downloading. Help?

This sounds like more of an issue with the device itself. What kind of device is it?
And does it need an update?

Are you experiencing this issue downloading any other Applications from the Apple Store or is it only the Square App?
Silly question, but have you turned it off and back on since you have attempted to download it?
We're not having any specific reports of others experiencing this issue, so we'd probably want to have you reach out to Apple support as well to see if the problem is with the App Store.
