Following on from a question I had a few months ago about possible ways to report on sales of VAT-rated items, I see that custom attributes are now available.
I have created an attribute called 'VAT rated' and made it a Toggle. I've found a few items in my library and set the toggle to True for those that would attract VAT.
However, when I visit the Reports page and look at the Item Sales page, I don't see Attributes in the Filter By list..
Should I be able to filter an Item Sales report on my toggle attribute? Is it not appearing because I've not yet had any sales since creating the attribute?
If this isn't a feature, can it please be added for a future update to the reporting capability?

Hi @the-refill-lady, thanks for your post! I had a look into this on my end and at the moment, the attribute field is only used to filter items within the library and hasn't been added as one of the reporting filter. I've flagged this to the relevant team as a feature request so that this can be used to generate reports in the future.

I am hoping to do the same thing -- this would be a huge help. Is there any timeframe for this feature to be added? I would love to use custom attributes, but they seem very lackluster currently in their potential uses.

As a further question to this, can custom attributes added to items please be able to be imported/exported? We're using them at the moment for SKUs (as in our industry, the barcode and the SKU are actually two different values and we have to keep track of both), but we're having to add them manually on each product after creation, and can't export that data if we need to make updates to it.
I would like the import/export feature too for custom attributes. We are adding allergen information to each of our food items and need to be able to manage them in bulk. Also in the Item Library when I filter by custom attribute, the listing does not display the custom attribute values - I can understand it may be tricky if the attribute type is 'selection' and it contains multiple selected values. Finally, having filtered the items I want to see (by any filter criteria) I would like the option to export just those items, not the entire library.

Any updates, really don't see the point of custom attributes unless we can bulk edit on import, also, I don't see how the are useful for reports.
All I want to do is add seasons to my retail items, so I track clothing from just Autumn winter or just spring summer. But there are no options for tags and I'm not duplicating my categories for each season.
What to do?
