Are Square Invoice links supposed to expire?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Payment URL chaged.

Hi, I send invoices created on SquareUp website.

Each invoice comes with its own URL payment so that customer can click on it to make a payment or view the invoice. I am not sure since when but those URLs changed and the old invoices have completely different URLs now.

Is this normal?

This means customers can not access the old invoice with the URL they originall received and have to contact us for the correct URL since the old URL does not exsit.

Please let us know what happened.

Thank you

Hi @aadesignlabinc, 👋

You're right that the invoice payment URLs have changed - this is actually an intentional update we've implemented.

For enhanced security purposes, Square invoice payment links are temporary and expire after a certain period. This is a standard security practice to protect both your business and your customers' information.

When a customer tries to access an expired link, they should see a page where they can enter their contact information to receive a new link to the invoice. This helps ensure that only the intended recipient can access the invoice while maintaining security. If your customer doesn't see the option to receive a new link, you will need to send them a new link manually from your Square Dashboard or App.

I hope this helps explain the change! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to let me know.
