[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Problem to setup a printer]
Hello, I use Samsung Tab E, a contactless reader, and magstripe card reader for my business. I can only issue an electric receipt in this case.
Because some customers request to have paper-print receipt, so I bought the HUB and USB printer (TSP143IIU) from Square.
I am having problem setting it up. First, my Samsung Tab E is using the micro usb for charging and data transfer. The HUB only comes with USB-C, so I use an adaptor to connect the HUB to Tab E. Printer connected to one of the USB port in the HUB. However, the Square app still cannot detect the printer. What did I do wrong? Any suggestion?
Thank you for your help.
Hi @hfca,
With the Square app on your Android device, you can print customer receipts and order tickets for your kitchen. We have a variety of printers that you can connect directly to your device allowing you to print our receipts right at your Point of Sale. You can select from two types of printers: USB or Ethernet interface.
To use a supported USB printer with your Android device, make sure you have a USB to USB micro adapter and a device that supports USB On-The-Go (OTG) or Host mode. Also, Bluetooth printers aren’t supported with Android devices at this time.
We recommend contacting Samsung directly to see if your device supports OTG or "Host Mode." If not, the issue might be the connection between the micro usb-usb-c adapter.
(Also, for a list of supported printers, visit our Support Center.)
Please let me know if you have any other questions by replying to this thread.
I tried the OTG but still not detecting the printer. My Samsung tablet supports OTG.
Do I need to connect the printer to the network? I just connected the printer usb to the tablet and power up. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
Normally if is just a USB printer, it should register in the app settings automatically. My only other thought is that it could be an issue with the adapter.
