Account says Google is disabled?

My site doesn't show up in Google.  It's been three weeks since I first published it.  I've had people visit my site via the url, so I know the site itself isn't broken.  I filled out the SEO page, including the header and footer tags with Google Analytics (which isn't getting any data from my site).

Additionally, in my account settings it says Google is "disabled", but does not give me an option to enable it?  Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing?  I know I have the "hide from search engines" switch off.  Am I supposed to just keep waiting for the crawlers?

Any help is appreciated!

Hi @starling1.  Sorry to hear about this frustration.  Unfortunately, I don’t have much of what you would consider good news to answer you with.  This is because Google can take anywhere from hours to weeks to index your new web site so that it shows up in their search results.  There is no hard and fast rule, and nothing you can do to force it to index.  Even after the web crawlers “find” your site and make note of it, it can still take a while.  This article from this past September is one of many I found that explain what’s going on and why.  It seems that there is even a slim possibility that Google won’t index some pages at all, but I’m betting that is for reasons you don’t have to worry about.  Here’s another article that says basically the same thing.

It should help to create a Google for Business listing and link that to your website.  I’m betting that once that is done it might speed up the process of getting your site indexed.  But, again, no guarantees.  Still, once you have created your Google Business listing, THEN you can go back to Square and connect it to your account/location.  That will enable communication between Square and Google.

I hope that you don’t have to wait four weeks, or longer.
