Was there an update to the Software last night?

As of yesterday, when using Square POS, I could add a note to an item by selecting it in the cart, which opened a pop-up box to enter the note*.

 

Today, when I select an item in the cart, that pop-up no longer appears. Instead, a panel opens on the right displaying excessive information, requiring me to scroll down and select an additional toggle, “Item Note,” in order to add a note. This is a noticeable change in workflow and significantly less efficient.

 

Additionally, I am now unable to reorder tiles on the Shortcuts screen (which was labeled Favorites as of yesterday). I am adding new categories, but I cannot move them into a logical order, which is causing usability issues.

 

* This current item-note workaround is necessary because the “modifier required text field” feature is still not functioning as intended. This issue has been ongoing and really needs to be addressed.

I figured it out! When I talked to someone from Square to try and fix the modifier issue, she had me change my mode to Retail. This changed the pop up box to the much more complicated retail screen. This screen was very confusing to the gallery sitters, so I'm thankful I figured it out.

Just played around with our register and I am not seeing what you are seeing so I don't know that it was an update? Hopefully just a temporary bug. 

Hoping it gets resolved soon!
