Using Inventory in Restaurants

We buy some units by the carton, and sell in units (ie. 24 to a carton).

If I set the product up in the backend with carton as the default, and the item as 'available for sale', when I add a button to menu in Restaurants, the button shows as unsupported.  

What am I doing wrong? 

I don't have permissions to upload screenshots otherwise I would post the product setup.

I just want to ensure I'm understanding you correctly here, is the goal to be able to sell this item both as a carton and as individual cans? Do you have a screenshot of how the button looks on your end, with the unsupported messaging?

I only want to sell by the unit.  However we order this product by the carton, and have set it up this way so that we can order via a purchase order and receive in by carton quantities.

Image is attached.  Ignore the other Breaka buttons, I have had to set up a separate product to be able to sell them until I get this worked out.

Since you last wrote in, I can see that you've been in touch with our Support Team regarding some other questions about your account. Have you been able to resolve this matter?

Meanwhile, I've forwarded your case to our Restaurants team for further review. They will assess your current setup and provide recommendations if needed.

After sending this thread through to the Restaurants team, I have received the following response.

The ability to sell by units is not yet supported for Square for Restaurants. Currently, this is a feature available on the Square for Retail Plus Plan. We're hoping to introduce this functionality across all verticals in the future. While I'm unable to share timelines with you at this stage, our Product Team will be sure to share any changes to inventory features via an announcement on the Seller Community.
