Countdown on Item availability

Hello.

Does anyone know how to have the countdown number showing on your items?

Before the new system upgrade, you use to be able to press and hold the item and track availability. Now when you put in x3 of an item it wont show on your home screen and allows and override of selling that product.

Any help would be appreciate

Hi @RoosLeap thanks for your post.

Which Square device are you using? Square Stand, Terminal, Register, etc.

There shouldn't be a way to override selling stock, when you can can you ensure that you have limits set up for your items?

  1. Visit Items & Orders > Items in your online Square Dashboard.

  2. Toggle on/off the Mark as sold out on Point of Sale and Online option for each item.

In terms of the hover option, I can test this out on my end once I know which device you are using, thanks!

I'm having the same issue with the new version of the app.  It used to display a countdown in the top right hand corner of the tile for the item, but this seems to have disappeared.  This was handy so staff know how many where left.

I can add a stock amount, say 5 garlic breads, but it will let the waiter add 6 to an order and not tell them we only had 5 left.

If you had say 2 separate orders of 3 & 2 garlic breads it will go out of stock for when they try to order again in a new order but if you in one single order, order more than what is left it doesn't tell you this is an error.

We are using Ipads.

Hi @WestStreetTapas!

Welcome to the community, and thanks for sharing your feedback on this.

When you record a sale in the redesigned app, the inventory will still automatically decrease to reflect the updated item count. However, stock count badges on the PoS item tile itself, is something that our team is still actively working on reintroducing.

In terms of sold out stock, sales against these items are not blocked, and your inventory count will simply display as a negative figure. However, when adding these items to a bill, staff will be prompted on the Restaurants Point of Sale to confirm whether they want to add the item, even if it’s sold out.

We'll aim to update this thread with any developments on the reintroduction of stock count badges, if it's not announced on the product updates board.

Before the last big update, we used to be able to track the items, like a count down, and when the count down finishes the item used to become unavailable. Now you can only make an item unavailable or available without a countdown. Does anyone know anything about this like how to bring it back or it’s just ridiculously disabled with the new update?

Hi @johnkiran, welcome to the Community. Thank you for taking the time to post and share your feedback.

We recently had a similar inquiry from other sellers about this feature. I'm merging your post to the existing thread so you can view the most recent update(s) from our team.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have passed this feedback on to our Restaurants Product team @WestStreetTapas, and I'm sorry to hear that this has been disruptive to your business.

Per Sineaid's earlier message, this is something that our team is still actively working on reintroducing. We'll let you know as soon as there is an update.
