Searching by item in transaction on Retail POS

Hi All!

 

I was wondering if there is a setting or an update that we are missing on our Square for Retail POS that lets us search transactions by items? I am able to do this through the dashboard or even the normal Square app on my phone, but it doesn't let us on our Square for Retail POS. 

 

It is a little frustrating when we have a customer who has received a gift with no receipt or didn't get a receipt and need to exchange or refund, especially if my staff are on and aren't able to just log in to the dashboard like I can. 

 

Any help would be much appreciated! Or if this isn't an option on Square for Retail, is this something that could be added please?

I can confirm that it is possible to search a transaction by item on the Square Retail app. It's odd that you're not able to use this feature, but we can definitely try some troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue 🙂.

 

We've recently released a new Square Retail version 6.40.2. Can you start by updating the app, or making sure it's updated:

  1. In the Retail app, go to More
  2. Click on Support then About
  3. Click on Update Available if you're prompted to do so

 

If after performing the update you're still unable to find transactions by item, I suggest going through the troubleshooting steps outlined in our Support Centre

Hi Lou8, 

 

Thanks for getting back to me!

 

My POS says it is up to date, however it still won't let me search transactions by item. I have the Square Register set up with Square Retail, is this maybe an issue with the register?
