Scheduled Orders Placed Through DoorDash Print Inconsistently

Hi all,

We recently installed a series of KDS screens with Square POS for Restaurants AND integrated our DoorDash online and storefront ordering into the POS. We are having an issue with orders scheduled through DoorDash and the timing of when they print.

Since integrated DoorDash - scheduled orders will pop up on the DoorDash screen and print immediately. However, sometimes they won't print until the 20-minute prep time that is set in the Integration management in Square - so these tickets will hit the KDS screen and print at the same time - instead of when the order is originally scheduled.

Our ideal workflow would be that ALL scheduled orders print when they hit the Prep Time setting (20 minutes), but I would honestly settle for just a consistent outcome - rather than some print at creation, some print at prep time.

To illustrate, we had 2 Storefront pickup orders placed yesterday - one at 8:55AM and one at 10:40AM (we don't open for business until 11AM). The 8:55AM order printed immediately while the 10:40AM order did not print until 20 minutes before the pickup time - which aligns with our 20-minute prep time setting.

Why is this happening? How can I just ensure that scheduled orders through DoorDash follow just one of these behaviors?

Just to head-off a few potential questions - the Printer Profile configured to print online orders has the setting for "Automatically Print New Orders" toggled ON and "Automatically print in-progress orders" to OFF. If I reverse those settings, the online order tickets do not print AT ALL. We also do not have Online Ordering Profile configured at all - this is strictly for DoorDash scheduled orders. This Printer Profile is also ONLY assigned to the main register POS app - not to the KDS app or to any of the handheld terminals.
