Retail Plus Require Passcode After Each Sale

Hi.  Is there an option to require a passcode after each sale on the Square Retail Plus app?

 

If I go to the settings on the Retails app on iPad there is no option for security.  I am aware that I can set the timeout length per device but I cannot see any option for requiring a passcode after each sale.

 

In the standard free POS app, I can simply go to settings, security, enable passcodes and then require Employee passcode after each sale AND choose timeout options.  I would have expected to see the same options on the retail app.

 

Am I missing something?  Thanks

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, @COTBH - I was out of office for a few days. They've let me know that the passcode requirement in our POS app isn't currently available for Square for Retail yet. I know that using the timeout option isn't ideal, but hopefully, we'll have passcode settings on the Square for Retail app soon, too.

I tried to replicate this from my end and came across the same issue you described, but I've reached out to our Square for Retail team to see if there's a workaround, or setting I may have missed or am not aware of yet. I'll be back in touch when I hear more 🙂

Thanks Arie, did we have any luck with this?

 

Strange that it is not a feature for the Retail app.  I have the timeout to occur after 30secs of inactivity which is set from the devices section of the dashboard.  It guess that will have to do for now.

Hi all,

I am able to log into the app with my device code, no issues.  but the retail app never prompts for any passcode.  So the app itself has my full owner permissions.

I enabled the time/clock options, and that works with my teams passcodes to clock in (so the passcodes work).

any idea? ive reinstalled the app a few times.


ios 16.2 9th gen ipad.

OK Thank you.  Ive been on a few support calls and they said that it was possible and weve been troubleshooting to no avail.

 

I would really like to limit my front line  staff from having full access to everything within the app.
