Prompt for quantity?

Just switching over to Square from Shopkeep - got the Terminal.  Overall, pretty happy with the features and ease of use.

One thing I am finding difficult on the terminal is adjusting quantities of items. 

If a customer buys, say, 10 pieces of a $1 item, I have to add the item, then go into the order, modify the quantity, then go back to the main screen.  It takes quite a few "clicks" and time to get done, and I've noticed staff are getting frustrated by it.

Is there an easier way to adjust quantity? I would love if I had the option for a prompt when adding an item that just asks how many are being added.

That's a really good point and an excellent question!

I'm not sure if there's a setting to force the Item Detail Screen (which will give you an option to adjust the quantity) to show up everytime, but that's a great feature request! ( @kellyj )

Here's a workaround that you can use in the meantime:

The Item Detail Screen will show up if you have any modifiers set up for that item.

So what you can do is set up a dummy optional Modifier and apply it to all of your items, which will force the screen to come up so you could adjust your quantity.

This is an interesting thought, and definitely does take multiple steps. You are using the checkout associated with Square of Retail and not Square Point of Sale, correct? I'll definitely pass this to the checkout and retail teams either way.

Was this ever addressed? I need a quantity prompt and cannot figure out how to do it.

The workaround offered here by @PessoAlumni will be the best solution to this @thenines de detail screen offers the quantity selector and should help reduce the confusion of going back to the order and adjusting the quantity per item.
