when we print out a receipt and someone has ordered 10 Jameson shots they print out 1 per line not grouped at 10 Jameson. using lots of paper????

Would you mind providing a picture of the printed receipt? What does the digital receipt for that sale look like? Is it the exact same item that is being added to the cart with an adjusted quantity of 10? Here's an example:

tried to attach picture but would not work. It's on the physical customer receipt that we
give to the customer, NOT the email one. Need to group same items as one (1) line.
Hey @cpisiewski - what if you try increasing the quantity of the item instead of adding each Jameson shot individually to the ticket so it appears like this:
Jameson shot x 10
vs.
Jameson shot
Jameson shot
Jameson shot
etc...

That would work if we know how many they were going to have? It should just group similar items together??? especially if you have large parties. thanks
I know for sure items are grouped together on the digital receipt (I just tested). Not sure about a printed receipt. Based of your post, I'm not sure if item grouping is a limitation for paper receipts (I don't have a receipt printer to test) or if you're encountering a bug.
A screenshot of a paper receipt would def help. Since you're having trouble uploading, reach out to CS to confirm if you're indeed running into an issue. If so, Engineering will fix it for you.
I think what @cpisiewski means is the feature request of automatically retroactively grouping multiple items on a receipt.
The request is that if you manually individually separately enter 10 of a single item, that they want it to automatically after the fact list it as 10x of that item on the receipt.

I just wasn't able to test and confirm if item auto grouping is indeed a feature request for printed receipts since it behaves differently on digital receipts, but you definitely helped confirm that this isn't a bug!

If so, only when they are all right after each other in succession, or also even if there are other items in between them?

We have the same issue too since sometimes our cashier enters the order as the customer is deciding: ex. latte x 1, cold brew x 1, croissant x 1, latte x 1 and it will print out like that instead of auto-grouping the lattes to latte x 2. Would help with saving paper as well as order management since it'll be easier to read overall.
So, there is NO way to group similar items on a PRINTED customer receipt?

It looks like it might be a feature request at the moment. We definitely see how it could benefit your business model. Our teams are constantly looking through our seller's feedback to make necessary improvements, and we will be sure to let you know if anything ever changes or if new updates are released.
