Price Override at Checkout

Hi, I'm trying to work out how to do a price override at the checkout.  I don't have the option to add a custom price.  Essentially a manual override of the price for an item at the time of sale.

Using a variation for a sale price messes up the inventory and online pricing.

Hopefully someone can please help me, thank you.

Hi @GoslingGothware — good question!

While you can create a variably-priced item, allowing you to set the price when it’s added to the cart, this may not be ideal if you're looking to do this for every item, as it can become a bit manual over time.

Currently, we don't support on-the-spot price overrides directly in the cart, aside from comping an item or applying an item-level discount. That said, if this is a recurring need, especially at specific locations like your in-store setups, you can set up price overrides in advance through your Square Dashboard — learn how to do this by following our guide here.

I hope this helps clarify things, but if not, just let us know, we’re more than happy to jump back in and assist further.
