Hi there @Cooked4U.  Can you post a reply with your website URL?  I just tested search in my online store and it is working perfectly — even for key words that are only in descriptions.  I’d like to run a few tests to see if I can come up with any ideas why it is not working for you.  Thanks!

So, @Cooked4U.  I brought up your store.  However, there is no beef stir fry listed, period.  I even used my web browser “find on page” function, and it only found the words stir and fry in the descriptions of the rice and Thai Peanut Udon Chicken.  It seems that search is working correctly.  I would check your Beef Stir Fry item in your catalog to see if there is a reason it is not in your store at all.

@Cooked4U And, for the record, I scrolled through your store.  My mouth is watering!  Any chance you want to open a second location in Greater Cincinnati?

thanks, i looks like I have to scour each item, and double check everything, learning this is a bit challenging. I just got to NC and building this kitchen, wont be open for another month. How long does it take to sync items after making corrections?

I have questions about making things available daily till sold out and best way to edit the backend for them?

So… I have a couple of answers/suggestions.

First, the item syncs for editing usually are pretty quick, on the order of a few minutes in my experience.  If I don’t see those edits within say 5-10 minutes then I’m wondering if I have an incorrect setting for things like “available for sale online” or “available at a location” set up correctly.

Otherwise, I assume that once you’ve made a batch of something you have a reasonable estimate for number of servings.  If you do you can set up that initial guess in the inventory tracking and have your sales deplete them automatically.  Obviously, you’ll still probably need to 86 items to account for human error (overportioning, underportioning, waste and spillage, etc).  But once you run out of something, you can just turn it off on your POS or your web dashboard.  The item will still show online but it just won’t be available for adding to a cart.  That part is as nearly instantaneous as possible, in my experience.

I definitely would not make extra work for yourself by removing items from the website when they are 86ed, however.  That is adding a layer not only to your workload but also requiring item sync to do unnecessary work.  Let inventory count tracking do its job.  And, to echo a previous discussion we had that resulted in a feature request, hopefully we can soon do the same sort if inventory count-down at the modifier level.

I hope that helps.  But don’t hesitate to keep asking questions as they arise.

Hello @Cooked4U !

I'm thinking that there just was a sync delay on the site. Just now I searched for "stir" on your site and came up with three items:

When you're doing a lot of updates to your site, it's quite likely it'll bog down on getting the latest version served to your browser. I think that's the case here too.

I think you're right here, @ryanwanner (like you are most of the time) It definitely could have been a syncing issue.
