My question and subsequent replies were deleted from this forum. Where did they go?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a post I made here in August or September 2025 about a problem with the Square App not updating inventory unit costs.

Here’s the situation:

  1. A Square representative asked me to record the problem, which I sent in about two weeks ago.

  2. I came back to follow up, but I cannot find my original post or any replies about the issue.

  3. I have also checked my email and texts and found no notice that my message was moved or deleted.

Has anyone else experienced a message disappearing, or does anyone know what might have happened?

For the team/rep looking for my case: I can now trace this inventory unit cost issue back to at least March 2025 when it first started.  That's 7 months that my inventory costs have not been updating!!  The Square app. is still not updating unit costs as of this post.  The app. is the only tool my staff has to log in/update inventory at the store.  They do not have access to the dashboard as your previous rep suggested that I use as a workaround for now. Please let me know how to follow up.

Thank you for any help!

Hey there @HAD.. I'm going to tag @kristen who is a Community Manager.  She was very involved in the recent upgrade.  I do know, but can't find now, that a message popped up in the Community saying that some threads and boards were still being migrated but were delayed.  It's possible yours might have been in that group.  But, Kristen should be able to confirm or deny that.  Best of luck.

Was my post helpful? Take a moment to mark it as a solution. Marked solutions help other sellers find possible resolutions to similar problems. Also, if you find your solution elsewhere (say, through Support), it is helpful to come back to your post and tell us about it, then mark that as a Solution. Solutions are what this Community is all about!

Hey @HAD @TheRealChipA, just jumping in for @kristen as she's out at the moment. Is this the thread for the unit cost issue @HAD? It looks like during the migration, it was accidentally moved to an admin board rather than to the Help board. I've moved it back now. I can see @MayaP was working through it with you, so just tagging her here so she's aware!

Hey @HAD, sorry for any confusion. I did reply to the thread @tranguyen tagged above. The engineers confirmed that the unit cost was being entered through standard mode, but it needs to be done through retail mode. Please make sure to use retail mode every time you enter unit costs. Unit costs will only save through retail mode or the Dashboard.

To switch modes:

  1. Tap ≡ More > Settings > choose the current mode.

  2. Select a new mode from the list > tap Switch mode.

I hope this helps! If you need anything else, let me know.
