Looking at Square handheld

I am currently using a bar code scanner and my tablet.  I am looking at buying the square handheld and trying to see if it is the best thing for me.  I have barcodes on every product and I sell a large variety at shows and events.   I need something simple and quick.  I assume you log in and it connects to your square account.  So, would this essentially be the same as using an actual bar code scanner and a tablet/computer?   I tried to chat with support, but they only copied and pasted what I can read on the site.  I would love some user input.

The barcode scanner is excellent in the handheld.  Unlike the traditional barcode scanner where you have to line up barcode to the red scanner line, the one in the handheld takes more of a photo of the barcode and is faster at pulling up the item.  

As far as inventory management, we software is just like the iPad POS.  We have used it to adjust inventory without a problem.  

The handheld will also connect to the Square stand usb hub and if you are using the epson receipt printers that connect to the hub, they will still work being connected to the hub, it also triggers the cash drawer to open during a cash sale.  "

@nanc512 We use two square handhelds. We use to use the Square strands and during the beta test we liked the handhelds so much we packed up the stands.  I think they are faster at scanning and easier to scan an item. The scanner on the handhelds sorta takes a snapshot of the barcode, so you just point it in the direction of the barcode and it reads it, unlike the regular barcode scanner where you have to line up the red line to the barcode.  

You are correct , just sign in and everything you have on your Square app on your iPad will be on the handhelds, if you connect a printer to it you will need to make a new printer profile.
