Known Issues on Update 6.14.1

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: " Update 6.14.1"

 

Anyone else notice the Popup now that says X item now in cart and waits there for some time.  Before I could scan item 1, a few times and it added that many to the cart.  Now I scan it 3 times and the Popup that stats X has been added blocks it from adding 3 to the cart.  Also when we press Charge and tell the person to Tap, the system beeps like the card was charged but isn't processing.   Then we try again and it processes fine.    This has happened with every transaction today.

 

Is anyone else having this issue with this update?

 

We are using Square for Retail 6.14.1 on an Square Stand.

 

The other stand that has not updated yet to 6.14.1 and is on ver 6.13.0

I am showing 6.14.1 and it seems like it is fixed today.  They had me uninstall 6.14.1   and then install it again on the Ipad and it is working fine.  Still shows version 6.14.1.  IDK   figured fix would have been 6.14.2  but still .1

Hey there, @Candlestore - I appreciate you following up with an update on this situation 🙏 I'm so glad to hear that everything seems to be back to working correctly for you today.

You will see the app version 6.14.1 because our engineers simply edited the changes released in this app version. Had they released an additional new app version to fix the issue, then you would see 6.14.2.

Not fully Fixed or Rolled back.   

 

Message 8 of 18 in this thread has not been fixed and may have been over looked because it got merged to this issue of the scanning delay which both happened during update 6.14.1.  Hopefully this problem of having to Charge a customer 2 times will be fixed!!

 

I was on with support last week and they wanted me to run a fake sale, but since fees are not getting refunded by Square, I was not going to 'Pay' them with unrefunded fees for processing a Fake Credit card transaction to see if they got this issue fixed.   Now if Square would give me a Credit Card # to test their issues I would do this but that is currently not an option.

I have some new information to report. All day yesterday we noticed some odd behavior. On both square stands, one running Retail and the other running restaurants, at least 50% of the time when you press charge you will see a yellow bar very quickly pop up at the top of the iPad screen and go away. I believe this is the same yellow bar that comes up when the reader is being initialized. We generally only see the yellow bar when restarting the app, or switching to or from battery power to the charge block. This gave me some hope that they were actually trying to fix the issue, however, yellow bar or not, most sales are still requiring 2 attempts to go through. Has anyone else noticed the yellow bar??

It’s been even worse the last three days. 

Quite a bit disappointed. 

Hate to say it, but using Quickbooks GoPayments until this is resolved.

I just don’t understand why they won’t fix it or even list the issue on issquareup.com. Going on now to day 11. I’m extremely frustrated with the lack of response and transparency.  This experience has strongly changed my overall opinion of square as a whole. Payment processing is their whole core business. How can this issue not be resolved???
