Number of Covers

How does one get reports to show number of covers as ours only shows "0" even though we are obviously doing a lot more than "0"

 

Please help

Hi @HarryT thanks for raising this here on the Community. 

 

It sounds like the option to track seating is not currently enabled for the the device you are using Square for Restaurants on. 

 

From your Square Dashboard > Devices > Select device > Seating > Track seating > Track cover count.

With this setting enabled, your Cover Report & section sales should start populating correctly.

hi, i have the same problem but don't have the option shown above. from devices if i select device i get point of sales details but not option but to save or edit. 

can you please advice how i sort this?

Hi @JayLiddicoat, thanks for flagging this. 

 

This would need to be enabled for the Restaurants app but it sounds like your device codes may be for the Point of Sale app, if so you wouldn't have the Seating option available are the floor plan is on the Restaurants app. 

 

You can check by looking at the device code - the Restaurant's device code will have the red app symbol on it.

Hi Breffni,

 

yeah the devices are just POS. Can I change them to restaurants app and is that a free service?

Yes, you can set up devices on the free version of the Restaurants software @JayLiddicoat

 

You can what is included in each pricing plan here, under the titles Free, Plus, Premium, there is a description of the locations and devices!
