I just started using Square for Retail in mid-August and we do get at most 5% of our stock from Faire.

Pros

  • If you create new items from Faire, the integration Imports images and descriptions automatically. Very nice!
  • Will legitimately update your stock count when you receive the order.  This is a two-edged sword, however.

Cons

  • If you have existing Items in your library that you link to in the Faire to Square integration, you get no pictures or description.
  • Faire's default is to use the vendor's SKU rather than an internally generated Square SKU.  Depending on the vendor this can be kind of ugly and doesn't ensure unique SKUs.  This can be manually edited when you set up the link, but that's an extra step.
  • Biggest concern: one of our vendors we actually get items from Faire AND direct from their Warehouse, depending on what's in stock when we need it.  This means that I would have to train receiving staff to know which was which and carefully avoid "double-counting" the items that come from Faire.

Bottom line, I'm glad it's there, but I use it sparingly, mostly for things I know I will only ever get from Faire.

What were you looking to know?

Some top level stuff. Integrates photos, sku, description, suggested retail, and when delivery confirmation occurs it receives in the inventory automatically.

Cons, it doesn't import unit cost, vendor info, and the majority of the time the upcs do not pull in, or if they do, are not correct.

It looks like it imports COST but it puts that amount (for the bulk Item) in the Sales Price.  I still dont understand this integration. I need to go in and fix each item to my cost and the retail price.  Thankfully we were just testing it on SQUARE because if this went live on store it would be a nightmare.   I could be doing it wrong... but I only seem to get-  photos, sku, description, NOT suggested retail and it puts my cost in the selling price.
