None of that has helped..... this is very frustrating when trying to run a business
Hi @sacredheart926 did your issue ever get resolved? I been going through this and its hindering my business.
It has been resolved after countless going back and forth with them. I am a website developer by trade, I explained to them that it was an error on their backend part of the website. Only reason I decided to go with square online because they directly sync the items to the website. Otherwise I would have just stuck to the website that I had built.
I am having the same issues as the poster of this thread. New products and even categories are not showing up on my website. I can see them in my Square Register but not online. I have trouble shooted everything that has been suggested above and more. Please help. My website is a huge part of our business model for pick up and local delivery. We open our new brick and motar next week. I have emailed for help and got a canned response that has nothing to do with my issues.
Can you please correct this issue I had an item set for my online store and showed up yesterday and now today the toggle is off on the item.... why am I paying so much money for something that doesn't work properly?
@sacredheart926 - My experience is that that is a common problem that pops up randomly. Because I do not do a weekly scour of my website to compare what is and what is not visible, it is only through casual accident that I discover when items are missing/incorrectly displayed, however I am fairly confident that there is an issue at all times on my website. (Luckily my main business is in-store retail).
I too am an engineer and it is more than clear that there are frontend/backend DB sync issues, meaning that as users, there is no way to actually 'fix' the underlying issue, and in the many cases, and forum threads that I have raised, Square does not acknowledge this fault, so ...yea. I have found that republishing the website (yes, the whole website) and toggling the visibility and/or sales channels on and off seems to kick it back into shape, but clearly this is not ideal.
I know it is so frustrating! and Now I look at my website just now and it says this store is not accepting payments which is a new thing I have never seen before. I too do a lot of my business in store but in todays world customers look on the website to see if we have what they are looking for before they come in. Just super frustrating!!!!
I am having the EXACT same issue with all three of my websites on Square. It's absolutely brought my business to a standstill and I can't figure out how to fix it. I had a constant back and forth with Square where they listed literally everything that was "causing it" and it did absolutely nothing at all. And now I can't get a response. I also have the issue where I click the toggle for which website I want the item to be visible on and update it, get the confirmation that it's updated only to click that item again to double check and it is NOT toggled at all. I am seriously about ready to just close my accounts and move over to somewhere else.
2/23/2026, and I can make no sense out of this issue. Total hit and miss as to changes propagating to the website. I've added an image to several existing products and tried to run the online price option with no luck. After messing about for an hour, 1 of 6 items has actually updated.
PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE.
Hi @Clarntoon can I ask, how much time are giving between updating items on the dashboard and checking your online website. Are you using more than one browser and your phone to check the website? I have found it can take 5-10 minutes to populate sometimes but I am based in Australia and things are generally slower down under!!
I am currently having the exact same issue and ready to give up. I created items in my item library but for some reason they do not exist in my square website editor. Its as if the two libraries are not syncing. I have tried all the work arounds the others have suggested and nothing is working. This is very dissapointing to say the least as I need to start taking pre-orders on my website ASAP for this weekend.
I know how frustrating this can be! @tranguyen is there a way you can get @sugascakery some help??
Thanks so much @sacredheart926 ! This seems to be an ongoing problem for many. I reached out to square support and have been told the issue has been escalated to engineering but there doesn't seem to be an eta for a fix...

This statement from Support is just a standard response that they give. When I receive this reply, it inevitably means that they are quietly dropping the case. Hopefully your experience has been/will be different. While not actually being helpful, at least it gives some closure, as compared to the ghosting technique where Support simply stops responding.
Either way, don't hold your breath. Just a quick scan of the forums and you will see that this has been a reported issue for years. I have no idea as to why this issue affects some and not others.
I'm currently having this issue!!!!
I spent a few hours figuring out this same issue.
What I found was that some items had broken images (they look gray with a camera, sorry didn't grab a screenshot) and I had to remove those.
It also seemed like turning on the "Skip item details screen" switch did something. It's marked for Points of Sale, but I definitely don't trust anything I've seen or been told about the config options.
I then made sure the items we're all assigned to the location and website sales channel.
Made sure the menu group was not hidden.
Saved the menu with no location and no channels, then edited and saved it again with location and website channel.
Then configured the "Online pickup & delivery" with the site visibility on.
Takes roughly 3 to 5mins for items to show up one by one with seemingly random delays on the "Order online" page. I didn't need to edit or republish the website.
Some of this might not be necessary. The order likely doesn't matter. Most was just trying every possible thing I could think of. Hopefully is useful at some level since this platform has the most insane and useless user interface I've ever encountered.
Do better, and fire your product team.
Just found another hidden setting that causes this issue.
On the item page, click "Edit" next to "Channels" on the right-hand side under the "Locations and channels" card, and toggle "Hide item from browsing & search on websites" off.
