How to set up inventory for multiple shirts and sizes??

Hi everyone! I've done some research but decided to come on here to see what you guys can help with 😀

So as a business, we set up our booth at events. We have different items and one is shirts. I set it up as shirts being the category and under there... shirt 1, size small. Shirt 1, size medium. Etc etc. But we have at least 5 or 7 different shirts.

So you can see how that would create a large list and then having to find the correct shirt and size. Blah.

Is there a way to have each shirt design listed under shirts and then click on the shirt design where the sizes would show??? I guess a list nested within a list?

I really hope there is a way to do this because the list is super long 😞 or some work around.

Thank you!!!

@GrumpyCookies ;

As I see this is your first post let me welcome you to the sellers forum.

You can use Item as The Design; Then have an Option set for Size or Color.

Each Option Set will make a Variation under the Item.

By useing Option Sets this can create Variations a lot faster.

Here is a Link to how Options work in Square :  6689-item-options

So I would recommend this type of setup:

Option Set for Size and color

Have Item:

Wolf Shirt

   Option set Color

    Option Set Size

So Shirt 1 as Item

in Color Black and Size Small  would create 1 Item

So your Item Catalog may look like:

Wolf shirt

Option Set Color

Option Set Size

Thank you for your response!

That's the other option I was thinking of. It may make more sense to do it that way. Because now I have...

Shirt

- shirt 1

   × size 1

   x size 2

- shirt 2

   x size 1

Etc etc (which is causing a long list)

Maybe listing each shirt and their size individually would be easier? Like you showed. Hmmmm because we also ha e tank tops, crewnecks. We just have a ton of designs. Just trying to find an easier way. So thank you!

It does make more sense to use Options if you will use the same Options more than once.  Like Size or Color, which you do NOT have to use all of the sizes or colors in the option list you create in Square.  So if your Option List for Sizes has Small Medium Large and x-TRA LARGE.  You can create an Item and use the Size Option to quickly Create the 4 sizes but you can exclude a Size from Creating and make only 3 sizes if YOU want.

I understand that your Option List might be Long but that is not an issue as you can have as Many items, or Variations as you want.   The only issue I found that Square warns you about is if you have over 120 Variations of an Item for ONLINE sales.  You can then make the Items Walf T-shirt Brown for example and use only the Size variation to keep the variations to the size list.
