Discount End time!

For discount schedule, end date time should auto populate to 11:59 pm.

Hey @goldenoxstaug ,

 

I understand your logic with where you were going with this, but I believe that the 11:59pm setting will shut off the discount at 11:59.00pm, and not 11:59:59pm which is what I think you are alluding to.    I'm guessing that is why it is the way that it is, as I think the discount would shut off at 12:00.00AM with the default setting.  This means of course you would default to the next day after the discount ended, which does seem a bit confusing.

 

I'll leave it to others here to comment accordingly, as I can see this both ways.

Basically, we noticed during some discounts ending Nov-30-2025 that discounts were not pulling on the day of Nov-30th. It worked once the end time was made to 11:59 pm!

No matter what Square decides to use as the default for time fields, there will always be a group of sellers who want it to be something else.  I doubt this will be deemed to be worth any effort to change it since we should always pick a time for it to end.  If this were a feature request in the feature request board, I'd recommend that there be NO default time and that a time be required to be set.

So basically, the end date should be a day in advance of the actual end date??

That is JUST a default.  It is expected that you will change it to whatever time of whatever day that you want.

 

However, yes, that would also work.  The possibilities are endless.

Chip A. & SVLFever, my suggestion was based on actual experience and the reporting time frame used by Square! If it is too much to ask from technical point of view then yes, it should be left as it is! Thanks for taking time to provide your feedback.
