Cost and Price

I find that employees sometimes fail to put the cost of items in Square during item set up. I would like to run a report to show me the items where cost is missing. I have not been able to find anything like that... any ideas?

What you could do is export your Square Catalog of Items as a CSV file.  Then open that file with a spreadsheet of your choice and sort the Cost column  low to High.  You can extend the sort so all other column are kept inline with your sort.   This will get all your items with a cost of $0.00 at the top.  The issue would be if you had an Item that had a Cost of $10.00 and now it costs $15.00....if an employee forgot to enter the price when a new purchase is made for that item.

I am not sure if there is a Report that you can Sort by Cost.  Not even sure if you can sort your catalog by Cost when viewing it in your Dashboard on a computer.  I just looked at my Items catalog and I can not sort it by Unit Cost throught the Square Dashboard on a computer.  Most of Squares reports are based on Sales and not finding items with No Unit Cost.  So I believe the best way and only way would be as I mentioned, Export your catalog, Sort the Unit cost column from Low to high to get all the $0.00 items at the top of the Spread sheet.  For LibreOffice its called Extend Selection so the rows do not get out of order.  The wording is similar in Excel and Google Sheets.  You normally get 3 options   Extend Selection, Only this Column to sort, Or Cancel the sort altogether.
