Can I donate service time while catering?

We sell prepared food and charge a catering fee per hour.  How can I donate my catering fee for reduced taxable income?

$1000 food sales.

2 hours catering x $150 per hour = $300 donated.

Hi there @Dlmiii.  First, I’d recommend that you consult with your accountant to be sure you are doing this the way they recommend.  Honestly, this is mostly an accounting question and how you are going to book this must be decided by them.  That being said, you can create a discount code that will discount anything 100%.  When you add your catering fee to your cart/invoice, you can add the corresponding discount, appropriately named.  I’d recommend that you use the advanced settings to require a manager override code fore this discount, however, just to be safe.

Thank you for taking the time to reply here, @TheRealChipA. @Dlmiii, Chip is right to recommend that you consult with your accountant.
