Was unable to find any good news or even recent info about accounting software integration with Square; certainly this is a concern to many others than just me. I'm about to pull the trigger on either Quickbooks Solopreneur (replacement for QB Self Employed) or Zoho Books, but thought I'd confirm here first that both have easy integration with Square. No?!? (head exploding)
What do you all do to manage your books with no accounting integration? (As I've been using Square POS for years, I've just been doing it manually but SHEESH! I am so done with that. Square, let us please advance with the times?)
Hi there, @akramer,
You're absolutely right that seamless accounting integration is a major need for many business owners, and we know that manually exporting data is far from ideal, especially as your business grows. We’re actively exploring better ways to support accounting workflows and simplify the connection between Square and the platforms you rely on. At this time, QuickBooks Online (Essentials and above) is officially supported via the Square + QuickBooks integration powered by Amaka. However, QuickBooks Solopreneur (the new replacement for QB Self-Employed) is not currently supported for direct integration. This is a limitation on the Intuit side, as Solopreneur does not offer the same API access as the standard QBO plans.
We completely understand your frustration, especially after years of manual work, and we genuinely appreciate your continued use of Square POS. I’ll also be sure to flag your feedback internally—it helps drive change and prioritize new partnerships and integrations.
I use Square + Zero integration via Amaka. It works great. I'm not a huge business but I do sales daily and have to track COG, daily sales, sales tax the Amaka integration does it all. I set it up myself and then jumped on a call with their specialists to make sure I had it all set up correctly. It goes down a few times a year but I just send a ticket and they get it all back up and running.
