show category and sub category buttons on page

Hi

This is driving me potty . . . .   I have included a screen shot below from https://gmnscoutshop.square.site/, as it shows what i am trying to achieve.

When you click on the button in the header from the home page, it takes you to category page, which has the categories / sub categories on the left hand side and sub category images in the middle.  I just can't work out how to set this up.

All help will be greatly appreciated.    Thank you  Andrew.

Tony,

thank you for the instructions.  Unfortunately, on the item list / contents, i do not have the option to toggle 'catagory links'.

I only see the Content and Customise main headings and the sub headings i have typed below:

Content

  • title
  • item images
  • item titles
  • item prices
  • badges
  • item links
  • pagination

Customise

Am i on the right page??

thank you     Andrew

Hi Andrew. Are you on the Shops All page and have you already created the Categories. I see what you have described with Category links above Title

All looks good now - The image is of a shop all page - you have a choice to show this page on your site - You also have the ability to have "mega menus" with huge submenus that drop down. so your navigation bar will expand - so when you click clothing (next to badges) a very large drop down menu opens and your site on a tablet or desktop browser remains full screen.

You need to check out what it looks like on a mobile device as a menu item might be covered by the lower search window (iPhone)  if you have a lot of sub catagories.

I just went to your site and it looks like you've got shop all still in place and everything is working well. The shop all is great if many of your customers browse / purchase by mobile device as mega menus work differently.

Our motto is "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

BTW you can change the text of "shop all" top right to any wording you like" (not sure about on the free plan) we have the wording changed to  "view our catalogue"

Good luck with your "Halloween" badges
