"The address you entered cannot be validated"

I keep getting this message trying to set up a new collection location. I've got 3 locations all set up fine & have tried this one with different address formats with no luck (also doesn't accept it when I select the address from the google bit that finds it).

I'm now totally stuck - as can't get any further in the set up process.

Anyone had this & managed to get past it?

Hiya,

I've been having a problem a customer facebook messaged me today saying they couldn't check out because shipping was unavailable for the item (I checked and shipping is the only option) Then I went to my overview and tried setting up my address as maybe that was the problem but whenever I type my address in google finds it but doesn't add the county where I am so I then add it and it proceeds to say this message-

The address you entered cannot be validated. Please ensure it is an accurate mailing address.

I can't click continue without adding the county and I cant continue when I add it? Please help

Thanks

Sam

Hi @cutecreations, so sorry to hear you are having this issue!

When you setup your address on the Online site, the option to select county isn't available. Instead, it will give you a drop down to select one of the following regions - ENGLAND, SCOTLAND, WALES and NORTHERN IRELAND.

With regards to the error message you are getting - this sounds like the same issue that was described above. Our engineering team are aware of the issue and are working to resolve this as soon as possible.

Hi @Sam_400º, so sorry about this! This is actually a bug within the system. Our engineers are aware of the issue and are working to resolve this. Once I have an update from the team on when a fix to be rolled out, I will be sure to circle back on this thread.

I have recently set up an online shop for our charity shop.  I cannot, however, get the pickup function to work.  The issue is connected with validating our address.  I keep filling in the form, find the right address and pinpoint it on the map but it makes no difference.  It still says the address cannot be validated.  I choose to use it anyway but that makes no difference.  Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?  This is make or break because most customers will want to pick up.

Hi @SandraAnn, so sorry to hear you are having this issue! I know there is an ongoing issue with validating the address for pickup. When I test this on my end, I've found that the address needs to match what's on Google maps and be pinned exactly there for the system to accept it.

Once you've clicked Save on the address, it might not look like any changes have happened but if you refresh the page the correct address should now be there.

If this doesn't work, can you send me a message with the address you are trying to enter and I can have a look here on my end for you!

Hi - I have set up a new site linked to a location. Square cannot validate the address and postcode for the location. I drag and drop a pin to the location but it still will not recognise.

This is the postal address we use for our business. How do i get around his ?

Hi @ManjitsKitchen, sorry to hear you are having this issue! I know that sometimes when you are entering the address, after you have draft the pin to the exact location and save it, it might not look like any changes have taken place but if you refresh the page the correct address should be there for you to complete the set up.

If you have done this and the error message still persist, please let me know and I can have a further look on my end here for you.

Thanks for letting me know @ManjitsKitchen. In this case, I'll need to file a ticket with our engineering team so they can investigate it further.

Hi @ManjitsKitchen

I had some success with this by logging in with a different browser. not sure if it was just luck but it didn't work in Safari but then I managed to get it to work in Firefox.

Might be worth a try
