My bakery offers a pre-sale all week long for pickup on Saturday. We selected the "space out orders" feature so that no more than 10 people would be able to pick up within a 15-minute time period, but it doesn't seem to be working. Everyone still seems to be choosing 10 am (the minute we open) ... we now have more than 10 orders at the same time. Does this feature work when people are choosing a later time, or does it only work for the ASAP/immediate orders?
Also, some people are ordering sandwiches that have a 15-minute prep time built in, but the system allows them to choose 10 am (the minute we open) rather than 10:15. I guess because it's a preorder, the system thinks the item will be prepared the day before? Any way to remedy this?
Thank you!
Hey @KingstonBread I'm sorry to hear about this happening. It does sound like the system is behaving correctly as order staggering does not work with scheduled pickup, so if everyone wants to schedule their sandwiches to be picked up at 10am, then they would all print at the same time - when you open your POS. Your best solution will be to remove scheduled pickup so that people will have to place their pickup orders when you open.
If you do that, the earliest they could pick up an order would be 10:15am if you had a 15min prep time.
Thanks for the reply! So "staggering does not work with scheduled pickup" ... any chance to put in a request for this feature? It was not clear from the description of this feature that it would not work if we were allowing people to select their own pickup time. It's pretty important to us that we don't have a huge line of 50 people trying to pick up at once, but if are allowing them to preorder for a certain date, right now they are all allowed to choose the same time. Are there any add-ons or apps or anything that we can use to space out ordering, if people are ordering ahead of time and not for "immediate" pickup?
