partial shipment email

Hi, It has been brought to my intention (by a confused customer) that when I mark down a partial shipment on my end and provide tracking, that they receive a shipment email that does not disclose that it is a partial shipment. Instead it says "Your items have shipped" then shows an image of just the shipped item above the total cost of the ENTIRE order. This is misleading, because there are two pieces of content, both the title and cost total that imply the entire order has gone out.

Is it possible for square to enable another email template that is for partial shipments? One that clearly states part of your order has shipped, and lists the total for only the shipped items, or maybe no total at all?

Hi hi @LuluZ - welcome to the Seller Community

Let walk through an example here! Let's say you ship coffee mugs, and you can ship 1 mug in 1 box. So - if you get an order for 2 mugs, I need 2 boxes. I'll head to my Square Online Dashboard > Settings > Shipping > scroll down to the Advanced Settings section, and click the Edit button.

  1. Edit or create a Shipping box - in the Max Items section pictured below, make sure you list 1 - because you can ship 1 mug in 1 box. This is critical!

  2. When you get an order for 2 mugs, you will log in to to your Online Dashboard > Orders and click on the order.
  3. You will then click Create Label.
  4. When you do this, you will see a Quantity field that is editable - that field will be displaying 2 as the quantity.
  5. You will change 2 to 1. Then you will purchase the first label, which is for Box 1.
  6. Then, you can go back to the order, click Create Label and print the second label for Box 2.

I hope this walkthrough was helpful, but let me know if any questions come up!

I wanted to add that the reason the above steps will get you where you need to be is because you will be shipping 2 separate boxes with with individual tracking numbers, and separate emails will be associated with the 2 separate shipments, @LuluZ!
