Very new to small business

Hello community, I am very new to small business and I want some advise on setting up an order form and payments system.

I am A Therapy Dog handler and I run some health and well being sessions in Kindergartens. I have a series of books that I wish to sell directly to the parents in these Kindys, I will put up a display with a Link or a qr code and they can order and pay directly through Square but I will deliver them on my next monthly visit .

- I have loaded all the books but I cant work out how to get  a link or qr code and how to put this info up so they can do it easily.

next question is that i have 3 different centres how can I differentiate where they are ordering from 

can I lock my site away from the general public ?

Welcome. I think Square can do what you are asking. Here are some tips that may help

First, check that your books appear on your published website, not just in your Item Library. Square’s guide to setting up website items explains how to make them available online.

You can then share your shop’s website address. For a QR code, look under Square Online → Website → Site Preferences → Site QR Code.

To record which centre each order belongs to you can use modifiers.  These are extra choices that you attach to a product. Square lets you make a choice compulsory.

For your books, I would use this setup:

- Create a modifier set called Choose your centre.
- Add your three centre names as choices, each priced at $0.
- Require parents to select exactly one centre.
- Apply the set to every book and enable it for your website.

If parents collect their books at the centre, I would use pickup instructions that explain your monthly visits. Something that communicates that the books will be available for pickup at your next monthly visit. Maybe you can list the visit dates for each centre and update those dates after each visit. Before sharing the shop, check the collection address and date shown during checkout and in the confirmation. They must match your instructions.

You can password-protect the whole website, but this requires an eligible paid plan. Square’s password protection guide lists the plans and setup steps

Give the password to parents through the centres. This uses a shared password, so anyone who receives it could pass it to someone else.

I would test one order going through the whole flow. Scan QR code -> Book page that requires a modifier selection of centre before being allowed to be put in cart -> Correct Pickup details -> checkout.
