Stopping orders for vacation

I have only one location. I'm going on vacation, so I wanted to turn of "accepting orders." I went to 2 different pages that show Business Hours and unchecked the days I'll be gone. I published the site, but it's still accepting orders.

Hello @Err !  First, I'm slightly jealous you get a vacation. 🙂

Your best bet would be to restrict the dates. This way you don't need to worry about remembering to change your open hours back when you return.

Dashboard -> Account & Settings -> Fulfillment -> Online Pickup & Delivery -> [fulfillment type]

once there scroll down to the restricted dates section and add the dates you don't want the online store to be open. Do this for both pickup and delivery fulfillment methods if you offer it.

Do note that if your site is set for shipping this won't stop people from ordering shipping fulfillments. You can respond to the orders as they come in stating you're on vacay and you'll fill the order when you return.

The other "nuclear option" would be to disable ordering completely.

Dashboard -> Online.

click the Accepting Orders button in the upper right.

I prefer the first option because I don't have to worry about coming back in and turning the site back on when I return.

The other thing I'd recommend is to put a popup on the page stating you're on vacation and will resume orders upon return. You can do this at

Dashboard -> Online -> Communications -> Pop-ups

Have a great vacation!

Thanks. I turned off ordering for online and delivery. That seemed easier than the entering dates in the area where you enter holidays like Christmas, etc. because I'd have to go back and delete those too.

@ErrThat works! 🙂

Just FYI those dates don't necessarily need to be removed right away. They will only apply on that specific date. You can remove them later the next time you need to restrict things.
