Is there a way around this or is it standard?
If there's items I don't want on the website I clearly don't want them listed on Google, especially when I got hundreds of them. Also, I don't see a way to edit multiple items on the channel listings, I have to select each one and unpublish. That's a problem for items coming from Faire that are created in Square before you get them but that stay unpublished till you receive them
Thanks for posting, @CandP
You can bulk edit your items by first navigating to the Square Online dashboard, then click Item > Site Items. Check the box next to the items you wish to edit, then click Bulk Edit in the top right corner. I believe you are looking for the Update Visibility option which will quickly mark all checked items as Visible, Hidden, or Unavailable. You can also schedule the visibility for a future date if you are on an upgraded plan.
As far as your Google Merchant question goes, can you post a link to the article or post where you saw that information? I do not have a lot of experience with Google Merchant, but I believe it is an integration or feature that is relatively new. I may need to check with some internal teams to get the most up-to-date information.
Thanks again for bringing up this topic. Please let me know if you have any additional questions with bulk editing. 🙂
**Edit to add: After rereading your post, I believe you may actually just want to select the first option from the Bulk Edit menu - Remove from site. Hope this helps!
I'm familiar with the online item editing, that's the whole point, sorry if it was unclear. There are items I physically got that I don't want on the website but I wanna sell them at the brick and mortar if needed so I unpublish or hide them. But Square sends every single item on Google Merchant regardless of visibility and I don't have the option to bulk edit and unpublish the ones I don't want on there. Unlike on the help screencaps, the bulk edit button on the channel listings only allows to upload a large file to populate the database.

Just to clarify, do you mean on Google's end, and not through your Square or Square Online dashboards?
A lot of teams are unavailable on the weekend, but I'll be able to get more details about how the items are syncing to Google, and if there's any way to block the unpublished or hidden ones from showing. I know it's possible to block certain pages from being crawled, but so far I do not see any obvious way for you to implement this for items. 🤔
I'll let you know as soon as I find out more information! 🤞
Hi
On Square's end. Home>Items>Channel Listings
Just wanted to let you know that I'm still looking into this for you, and that i appreciate your continued patience. 🙂
Thanks again for bearing with me while I gathered more information from the team.
I was advised the following is correct:
I apologize I do not have better news for you at this time, however, my colleague was very pleased to hear your feedback, and mentioned that the information would be used as they regroup to discuss improvements that can be made in the upcoming year.
Are you familiar with our Ideate feature request boards? I recommend submitting a request if you have not already done so yet. It's a great way for other sellers to share their feedback as well, and to show support for your suggestion(s). This would also be a great way for you to add more suggestions should you come across any more nuances with the service as you use it more and more. 😊
