Shipping charges for more than one item in cart

I recently had a customer order 4 separate items and they were only charged shipping on the first item and I had to eat the shipping on the other three items. I can't find the settings to correct this issue. Please direct me to the settings for this issue. Thanks.

Hi, @Julynoreen ! Welcome to the Square Community!

To charge shipping for each item in an order, so customers don't just pay once, you'll want to set up a Shipping Rate Profile for your Square Online store and use the “Per item” option. Here's how to do it step-by-step:

How to Charge Shipping Per Item in Square Online

  1. Open your Square Dashboard and go to: Account and Settings > Fulfillment > Shipping

  2. Create or edit a shipping rate profile:

    • Choose Item as the profile type (this means charges apply per product, not per order)

    • Add your relevant items to this profile

    • When adding a shipping rate, select the “Per item” fee option and specify the cost (e.g. $5/item)

  3. Save your settings
Now, when your customer orders multiple items assigned to that profile, the system will multiply the fee accordingly: e.g. $5 × 4 items = $20 shipping.

I hope this helps!
