Product Can’t Be Added to Cart

Hi! My customers aren’t able to add products to their carts. They can add event tickets. I’ve checked visibility, toggled pickup on and off, I don’t have stock limits. I’ve tried on both chrome and safari, both desktop and mobile. Please help me figure this one out.

UPDATE:

I had required modifiers on my preorder items. (ie. Personalization + Flavor or Color + Flavor or Design Choice + Flavor). What I ended up realizing was that the Flavor modifier had disappeared from the customer viewpoint. It was still in my listing on the backend, but wasn't showing up on my online store. Because the customer had no opportunity to choose the invisible modifier that had disappeared, they couldn't add anything to their cart.

Although it means offering only one flavor for now, I took off the Flavor modifier that wasn't showing up, and voila- everything is working again.

Still not sure why this modifier worked for 10 days, then stopped working all of a sudden, but I'm glad the orders can start rolling in again.

I have added stock, and when I do the product then shows out of stock.

Hello @darlingcookieco !

I am seeing an error "There is an issue adding that product to the cart" as well.

I have a couple of ideas that could be fouling things up:

-What is the Item Type of the items you're selling as a preorder? I've seen times where Food and Beverage item types and the Shop All template (which is the one you're using) don't play well. Try creating another item with a different item type and see if the error continues. If the error goes away, unfortunately there's no way to adjust item types on existing items: you'll have to create new items.

-Are your fulfillment settings matching? Check your settings at Dashboard -> Account & Settings -> Fulfillment -> Pickup and Delivery. (check Shipping too just to be safe even if you don't offer it) Then, check your items to make sure the fulfillment matches. If you have the item with shipping enabled but don't offer it on your site (for example), I've seen the site throw some seriously random errors in the past.

-Chances are the out of stock issues you see have something to do with the two ideas above, but if you're still having issue with this error try enabling stock tracking, save the item, wait a minute, then disabling stock tracking and saving again. That should reset the errors.

Hope this helps!

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for your response.

The items are Item Type "Other". I did duplicate and try and switch them to Food & Beverage, but got the same error message when trying to add the new listings to my cart.

I have tried the two other troubleshooting efforts you mentioned with no success as well.

I have had several orders come through, up until last night. Not sure why it was problem-free for my earlier customers, and having issues now.
