I have a storefront that sells multiple variations of several types of nuts. When I manage stock, the Item level (main nut: peanut, pecan, etc) will show "Out of Stock" when you click on it, before attempting to select the variations (which will show the proper Stock/OOS).
The OOS tag showing up at the Item level before variation selected confuses some customers/prevents them from trying to buy.
HI, when having multiple variations of one item, if one variation is OOS, the Required Selection will appear as OOS until a selection is made.
This is standard. I've encountered this on Walmart.com, Amazon etc.
(example: a shoe displays as OOS but when size is selected (8) there is stock available)
Is there a plan to correct this? Even if it's common on other sites, it's very misleading and could cause customers to leave without attempting to check that the color or size they want is available. I think a fix could be as easy as changing the message to "Some variations out of stock" or similar if nothing is yet selected. This is a terrible user experience as it is.
Hey there, @John_Prass -
I would suggest dropping this over in our Ideate Board as a Feature Request. Also, it would allow other sellers to comment and add their voice to the request too.
Thank you!
