Order Pickup Time

Is there any way to change the default pickup time limit from 15 mins to a longer time? I want to spread pickup times to 60 minutes apart to help alleviate our custom cakes being so closely scheduled together.

Yes, you can change the default pickup time whenever you need to make changes to better reflect your business needs. It looks like you may have already sorted this out, though.

 

From the Square Online dashboard, click on Fulfillment > Pickup & Delivery, then click on Edit next to your business location. On the next screen, select Pickup from the menu on the left, then scroll down to the section that says How much time do you need to prepare an order for pickup or delivery? You will see some options from the dropdown, including a selection for 1 hour.

 

You can also override the default setting for specific items that may need more or less time to prep. Click on Item > Item Library, then select the item to edit. On the next page, scroll down to Item Prep Time to edit.

Not quite. What I need is for the pre-order pickup times to be at least an hour apart instead of 15 minutes. For example, I already have my custom cakes set to 48 hour prep time. But, if say 4 customers each pre-order a cake on a Tuesday for pickup on a Saturday they can all pick 11am, 11:15am, 11:30am, and 11:45 consecutively which crowds our schedule. What I'd like is to only have pickup time options on the hour so we have more time cushion between each order and that also helpfully limits the number of cakes scheduled in a day. So if the above was able to be customized to any time instead of 15 minutes that would be exactly what I need!

Ahh, gotcha! Yes, this makes more sense! I had a feeling you already had your prep time figured out, and obviously read your post too fast! 

 

I will ask around to see if anyone has more information on this. I'm sure there are other sellers with the same predicament, and if that's the case there's most likely a work-around if the setting can't be adjusted.

Is there any plan to change this feature? It's such a huge issue for my business that I'm considering moving my website elsewhere. I need to be able to only allow 1 order every hour because I can't keep up with this many cake orders.
