Online Ordering Layout

My order page is showing all of my items twice (support could not resolve). It's very confusing for the customer.

My old Square account allowed me to fully customize my site. The new one gives me one option, and the option is not working. The big problem is that my competitors down the street who established years ago have Square sites that look great and flow properly, while your new Square customer can't compete because my online ordering page is a mess. We're both paying the same company for the same thing, yet I receive an inferior product. We need to be able to customize our sites.

Hello @sleeper !  Welcome to the seller community!

There's a couple of things we need to work on here! Let's start with the duplicate items, because that's definitely not right.

Try this: Unpublish your website (Dashboard -> Online -> Online Store -> Website -> Site Preferences -> Unpublish. Make any changes you want then republish the site. With any luck, a reindexing of your site would fix the problem. If not, I wonder if there's a menu issue with Square for Restaurants. Please reply with your site address so we can dig deeper.

As for customization, I do agree that the online pages are a little limited in what kind of customization you can do, especially when compared to Shopify sites. So for that I'm definitely giving you a +1 on the additional customization request. There are some things that can be done, but I would recommend blocking an afternoon to really get in there to tweak things.

@ryanwanner,

My dashboard is not organized like that. Mine is Dashboard > Online > Settings. That's as far as it goes.

I unpublished, went to the Menu, and suddenly all of the items were removed. There are 3 sections in the menu and now they all say "0 Items" (the menu group is empty!). So I republished, and now the site is showing all of the items that were in the menu originally, but when I go back to menu settings, it still says there are no items. So now it seems very messed up.

Site still showing the menu, followed by all the items/categories again...

I don't have separate menus like "lunch" and "dinner," it's all one menu, so having to create a menu and have it listed as "Menu" or "All" is just redundant and annoying, unless there could be a way to hide the menu and just have the categories show up, but currently there is not.

Other major problem here:

My store hours and site ordering hours keep reverting back to default 9:00-5:00. I keep updating them and sometimes many hours after updating it will show up right on the site and then I check again later and it's back to 9-5.

Hello @sleeper !

Sorry for the delay getting back to you!

I just checked out your website. It looks like whatever problems you were having are fixed now? I only see the one menu plus your hours look to be correct.

As an aside, I really like how your website is laid out. I assume this was a template you chose? Having the order list on the right side is something that I'd like to implement so if you'd share your template choice!

Thanks, I was on with support for hours and they identified several bugs in the system that they are working on. Whatever I'm using is the "new" Square... There are no templates, this is the default and the only option for new customers.

@sleeper Good to know! Interesting that this template isn't given out to existing sellers. I'll have to tease my beta lead about that one... 😉
