Currently, the option to let customers opt-in for marketing communications directly on the booking checkout page is available only in certain regions, including the UK. As of now, this feature isn’t yet supported on the Canadian Square platform.
That said, Square is always working to expand features and improve the booking experience across all regions. I recommend keeping an eye on our updates or subscribing to Square’s release notes to be notified when new features become available in Canada.

You can, if you'd like! I believe (but do not quote me on this) it has to do with the Canadian Anti Spam Legislation that heavily regulates text message marketing.
