Online Item Link Not Properly Using Discounts, Subscription, or Coupon options

 I have tried various combinations of Discounts, Subscriptions, and Coupons... none seem to work as expected. I think Square is buggy... Something is not right with the Online forms for Items.

This is what I am trying to do. Here is an example. I am offering special perks on my website, gotonight.com, to customers who subscribe for more than 6 months. If they purchase 1-5 months the cost is $1/month. If they purchase 6-11 months they get a 5% discount. If they purchase 12 or more months they get a 10% discount.

 

I set up an Item valued at $1.  It has a link:     https://square.link/u/VxPwrr0T 

 

To offer discounts for subscribers that meet monthly quantity of 6 or 12 months or more, should I be using Discounts, Subscriptions, or Coupons to get the desired result? I like the idea of Subscriptions since they can billed again when due.  But this is not a requirement. Discounts based on Quantity could work better.  I am also open to using a coupon if the respective quantity is met. 

I cannot figure out how to set this up so that it works properly.  Please help!

To make sure I understand correctly, you're looking to have an item originally valued $1 for 1 month be automatically discounted 5% off if they purchase 6-11 months and 10% if they purchases it 12 months? correct?

 

 

If so here is what you need to do. You will need to create 2 Discounts 

The first one will be %5 Off 6-11 Months (fyi on the screenshots below "Additional Cost" is the name of my item.)

The second one will be 10% Off 12+ Months

Once these discounts rules are in place and setup to apply automatically they will be applied at checkout on your Square Point of Sale and your Square Online Checkout (Payment links do not have auto discounts at this time)

Thank you for your reply!  I am not getting the discount. I have set up my item and discount just like yours.  Does the Item Type matter?  Should I use Digital or Other?  I did have it set at Other since the other categories did not fit what I am doing. I am selling advertising space on our website.

 

There was one difference between our screen shots.  I am attaching this link to my DRIVE DOC where I have a screen shot of the difference.  On my Purchase Rule it shows the Item Name and for the price it says "1 price" in light gray. Your screen shot shows $1 as the price.  I am wondering if this is causing the issue?  If so, I can't figure out how to make it show $1.
