Online Item Alphabetically

I know I've found out how to do this before, but why when I arrange my items in my dashboard alphabetically, they do not follow suit on my website? I need my items arranged alphabetically at all times on my website. I just can't seem to find where to do that. Thanks.

Hello @CheesecakeLady !

If you go to your shop page on your online website, and select the button that shows the "sort options", and select that box, you should get the "arrangement" screen.  It should look like something like this below.

You should then be able to select "alphabetical" as your default, which should alphabetize your items.  If you have trouble finding it, let me know.

Hope this helps!

I have no idea where you can find the "shop Page". When I log into Square and choose "online" and then choose "online store", I do not see anywhere to "arrange" anything. Can you please give me step by step instructions?

Also note that on my dashboard everything is alphabetical, so I'm not sure why its not carrying over that way, but anytime I add new items, it puts them at the bottom of my online menu.

Ok @CheesecakeLady , try these steps in order.

First, select "online", then "website", then "edit site", as shown below....

Step 1.png

Then select "search all pages" as shown here....

Step 2.png

Then type "shop all" in the search box and hit enter....

Step 3.png

Then on the Shop All page, you should see an arrangement button on the right side of the screen, like this...

Step 4.png

Select that box and the "Arrange items" dialog should open, like this....

Step 5.png

Select that button and a new option should appear, like this....

Step 6.png

Choose the "alphabetical" in the selection and then SAVE the page.   Your items should re-sort in the correct order.

When done you will need to "publish" your site in order for the changes to take effect.

Let me know if you need more help or if you have further issues.  Good luck.

Can you check the browser bar and see what the page name is @CheesecakeLady ?

If so, try searching for that page on your web editor.  So instead of entering "shop all" in the search, enter the page name, and see if the "arrange" selection shows up there.

The page with the menu items is "order online". I've been through the entire site, and there is not one option to arrange anything. I even tried rearranging the online menu through the dashboard by physically moving each item to ensure it was alphabetical and it doesn't follow through to the menu online.

I'm sorry to hear you are still having issues.  I am guessing at this point you will need to call into tech support.   Sorry, there isn't anything more I can do.

According to a support agent I just spoke with, the " Arrange Items" option has apparently been removed. This seems nonsensical as I imagine it's a simple tool for Square to implement and it greatly increases user experience. Dragging items into the order we want is extremely tedious when we have upwards of 100 items in a category. I know myself and others would really appreciate this option as it would save us a ton of time on the backend and make it easier for our customers to browse our products.
