New Order Notifications - Android?

Hello,


My managers are not receiving push notifications on their ANDROID PHONES when we receive a new order.


I receive push notifications on my iPHONE each time we receive a new order.


How do I enable push notifications when a new order is received on android phones with the square app installed?

Hi @TGPH, thanks for your post! We can check the following settings to make sure that managers get the same notifications when new orders are placed:

  • Within the Square Point of Sale apps, navigate to Settings > Orders > Alerts and check that the option to Allow notifications are toggled to blue
  • In the Android's device settings, check that notifications are allowed for the Square Point of Sale app. 
  • If have setup Team Permissions, check that managers have been granted access to view orders. You can check this on your Dashboard > Team > Permission

When my managers try to access alert settings It says 'you need permission to access this area'

Since the managers are getting this error, you'll need to check that they have the following permissions enabled @TGPH:

  1. On your Square Dashboard, navigate to Team > Permissions 
  2. Click the permission set you've setup for the managers
  3. Select Account & Settings. If this hasn't been enabled already, please toggle it to blue
  4. Once it's enabled, you can uchecked everything except for Configure orders settings. This will let them edit the notification settings and get the order alerts.

  5. Click Continue > Save
