Navigation Link

I have all my categories sorted, and all my sub categories too on the POS site.  However on the website , I can't seem to link my items to anything.  When going to add navigation link, there is no such thing on the "link to" drop down with category.  Also on the edit website it all looks good, but when you go in as a customer it looks totally different.  I have been trying to fix this for 2 weeks and it's extremely frustrating.

Sorry I wasn't able to get back to you sooner, @sipinstyle78!

I've had a better look at your site today, and I can recommend a few steps that should help you out here.

Firstly, Square Online categories don’t automatically create separate pages on your site unless you tell it to. Even if you’ve created subcategories and assigned items to them, they won’t show up unless you manually add them to your main navigation, which it looks like you've done now.

Also, dragging subcategory pages under a main category in the page list is helpful for organisation, but doesn’t automatically connect products to those pages — you need to manually assign items to your categories and subcategories in your Square Dashboard.

To make sure your items are assigned to the right subcategories:

1. Go to Items > Categories in your Square Online Dashboard.

2. Click each category and subcategory, and make sure the correct items are added.

If no items are assigned, that category will appear empty on your site.

A quick note about the "Shop All" button: If you’re using a button that links to “All Items,” it will display your entire product catalogue — not grouped by category. That might be why it looks different from what you expected. If you want to direct customers to a specific group of products, you’ll need to link the button to a specific category or subcategory page instead.

I do hope this helps! Please let us know if anything else comes up!

Hi @sipinstyle78!

Thanks for reaching out with your question!

We’ve seen a few reports recently about Category visibility and sync issues in Square Online, and in many cases, it’s been related to how the physical address is formatted for the Location linked to your online store. I’ve shared some troubleshooting steps for that in this thread, so I recommend checking that setting first to see if it might be contributing to the behaviour you’re seeing.

Could you also share a bit more about how you’ve set up your Categories on your Square Online site? For example, do you have a Shop All page that lists your Categories, or are you creating separate Category Pages?

If you’re able to include a screenshot of what you’re seeing and your site’s URL in your reply, I’d be happy to take a closer look and help further.

Thanks, I have now changed my location to physical, it hasn't made a difference unfortunately.  I have set up categories on square online with sub categories, the subs weren't showing up on the website.  Today I have somehow managed to create all the subs by creating new pages and putting them under the main category heading by dragging these, but the items still aren't showing.  I really don't know what I'm doing wrong and getting so frustrated.  I have my first market this weekend, and I really need this up and running.

I haven't set up a shop all button, but however, I have a button on my featured part of my website, and when you click this button it takes you to all my items, but this is not how I want them to appear.  It won't let me post screen shots, so I don't know how to show you
